A Big Bite

It was a good week back from vacation. Everyone is working hard for the final push of fourth grade. We finished chapter 10 in math and have begun "crunching" for MCAS. In reading, we have started another interactive read aloud, Charlotte's Web, by. E.B. White. As a class, the students have read 948 books so far this year! We have continued to write poetry and are looking forward to our visits with Ms. Liz next week. There were some great projects from the West region, and our tour of the United States begins its last leg next week in the Southwest. The EXPO will be here before you know it! We have begun the last Science unit, Electricity and Magnetism, and have formed new science teams. Mrs. Trockman joined us for Open Circle on Friday as we continued to discuss cyber bullying, electronic etiquette and maintaining a positive attitude in our daily lives. There is so much technology available to students these days, especially at younger ages, and our class is working toward developing good on line habits and strategies for dealing with the electronic age. Thanks for all of the support you give at home to keep your children safe and aware when it comes to cell phones, email accounts, texting, and the Internet.
