A Big Bite

Go to Google Classroom to see the video of my house tour today. Try to count all of the nutcrackers, or, the number of times I say, "You are going too fast!" 😅

Have a wonderful vacation and I will see you in 2021!

Love,

Mrs. A

A Big Bite

We have been busy in Room 23!  Patterning and multiplication in math, Mr. Popper's Penguins in reader's workshop, and studying Canada in social studies are just some of the topics we are learning about in 4th grade.  We continue to make progress with in person and hybrid learning as we keep safety, physical and emotional well being as priorities in all that we do.  Check out the pictures below to see what we have been up to.

Indoor recess fun!

A Big Bite

Our first week of the hybrid learning model was a successful and although we still have some kinks to work out, the students were excited to be back in school, ready to learn!  When students were at home learning, they showed patience and understanding with their "at school," peers and me. :)  We are living our motto of, "holding each other up."

Please check the weekly email update for important information about conferences and other classroom happenings.

Here are some pictures from our week.  Mask breaks, indoor recess, celebrating Halloween and Mr. Banks  dressed as an '80s fitness guru!

Have a great weekend!  Stay safe Saturday night!

A Big Bite

We have been working hard during remote learning.  We have completed two units in math, place value and addition/subtraction.  Multiplication and division will start next week.  We are still establishing routines in reader's and writer's workshop and will start our first interactive read aloud next week.  This past week, we participated in a virtual author visit with Amy Nielander, author of The Ladybug Race and Grama's Hug.  Thanks to the PCC for funding this enrichment opportunity.

Plant and Animal adaptations and structures have been the focus in science.  We will continue this work in the upcoming weeks.  Our focus in social studies has been on map skills, using an atlas and geography.

Creative Arts Wednesdays are coming together.  Students have been learning about the many tools available in Google during tech workshop and have been creating maps with Mrs. E in Project Based learning.  In poetry workshop, we are writing Bio poems and should finish this week.

Google rolled out Jamboard, Breakout Rooms and Live Polling and we have been having fun learning how to use these tools during Google Meet.

I am excited to finish full remote learning next week and am looking forward to hybrid learning beginning on October 26th!

Have a great weekend!
