A Big Bite

What an amazing first week! 4th grade is off to a great start. We worked on building a classroom community by participating in different team work challenges, creating a classroom constitution and getting to know one another. We began working on Math, Reading and Writing. We will continue team building next week as we begin to dive into the curriculum.
Ask your child to tell you about the pictures shown.
Have a great long weekend!

Absolutely LOVED this book. Fans of Monopoly will enjoy learning about the history of their favorite game. Don't skip the authors note, so important! Another great story about women in history and women who achieve and persevere. Can't wait to share this one and see what great ideas students come up with for creating their own version of Monopoly as has been done throughout history. Great for class debates as well. The possibilities are endless!

Intense and moving, I remember very clearly the true events that inspired the main problem in this story. Great for point of view and tracking characters. I would love to see a student read this with a parent as it can be a bit scary for incoming fourth graders.
