A Big Bite

The two weeks before vacation were very busy. We finished the weather unit and EVERYONE did an incredible job on the last test. Well done, students. We started chapter 10 in math and will be getting ready for the MCAS when we return. We created toys with Unifix cubes and drew them on graph paper as part of our "gold medal reading reward."

Our travels around the U.S. continue in the West, and the next set of projects is due on Friday when we return from vacation. We have listened to Love that Dog and Hate that Cat in Reader's Workshop, and have tied that in to our poetry writing. The Poet's corner is really blossoming with so many poems. Speaking of poetry, Rock Poetry Day was a success. There were many unique and different poems presented and the students created visual imagery dictionaries about the poems. Some of us even dressed up for the occasion.
It's hard to believe that there will only be eight weeks of school when we return from vacation. Have a great week everyone!
