A Big Bite
We started off our week with IVAN day and it was so much fun! We participated in a jungle yoga set during our grade level community meeting, painted with finger paints like Ivan and played pictionary with our word study. We also watched Disney's Tarzan and were able to make comparisons of the characters and plot between the movie and our novel. This is an important English Arts Standard for 4th graders and the observations made by the students were very astute. We also saw some very interesting snacks and "stuffies," on desks. Thank you for helping your child become fully engaged in this book celebration.
I didn't take many pictures this week, but there was PLENTY of learning happening in Room 23. We learned many new skills in geometry and began our review of all math standards as we approach the end of the school year. We are writing non fiction pieces about animal adaptations in writer's workshop and are continuing to write poetry. We will finish studying the west next week and will begin electricity in science. The end of the year is action packed with learning, we don't stop or slow down in fourth grade!
Happy Mother's Day to all!
Have a great weekend!
