A Big Bite

We have been working on patterning in math with shapes and numbers.  Determining the rule for a number table is challenging but a great way to think about numbers.  Using manipulatives is one way to see a pattern!
We finished Mr. Popper's Penguins in reader's workshop and have been disecting short non fiction texts about penguins.  We are looking forward to "Black and White Day," on Thursday.
As part of writer's workshop, we are writing paragraphs and poetry and are learning how to use a dictionary.  This is such important work for writers.  Do you write every day?  We do!
Learning about Mexico is very popular in Room 23.  The students have learned about the geography, climate, natural resources and history of Mexico.  We will continue learning about our neighbors to the south next week.
There are two half days next week and Halloween, so our week will be short but busy!  I am looking forward to seeing parents and guardians at conferences next week.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Williams
