Room 23 is marching through March. We have begun a new math unit on measurement and are learning all about conversions of standard units. We have finished the mini unit on Greek mythology by reading a play called, The Gods and Goddesses Bakeoff. It was very engaging! We wrote essays about heroes and completed poems with a mythology theme. The Washington D.C. projects were well done, I can tell that the students worked hard. Reading the projects makes me want to go back to D.C. for a visit. We continued our travels around the southeast, learning about the natural resources, the climate, geography and wildlife that makes this such an exciting region in the US. We celebrated two special days, Crazy hair day on Tuesday and World Down Syndrome Day on Thursday (check out our pictures of socks for #rockyoursocks). The Franklin Fire Department taught us about fire safety on Monday in addition to a visit from author Andy Griffiths. Everyone at JFK participated in an all school meeting on Tuesday. We will be focusing on the core values of respect and safety in the upcoming weeks.
One of our classmates has a favorite DVD of songs and videos that we were able to watch during indoor recess. We all had fun singing along to the songs. Thanks for sharing it, Eric! We loved it!
Keep reading, keep practicing the math facts and keep up!
Have a great weekend!
