A Big Bite

We continue to love book talks and sharing our love of books in Room 23.  Finding just right books is a skill that we are all still working on.  Getting recommendations from friends and previewing interesting books with a partner is one way to determine if a book is just right.  Keep reading and sharing great books!!!
We prepared for the Map test by playing, "Ring that Bell," with Mrs. Merten's class.  It was a lot of fun.  Many students used the Quizlet link to study at home, great job!
Debating Mr. Popper's Penguins.  Did you like the ending, yes or no?  A GREAT first debate.
During the unit on patterning, we used manipulatives to practice the concepts being taught.  Here we are using Unifix cubes to build geometric patterns.
Class poll on
Mr. Popper's Penguins
Chocolate ladybugs are yummy!  Thanks, Makena!
Black and White Day was a great way to celebrate the end of Mr. Popper's Penguins, We participated in many cross curricular activities in math, writing, reading, science, word study and art.  The quote of the day comes from Alex who said, "I LOVED ALL OF THE ART ALL DAY!"

Watching March of The Penguins to learn how penguins adapt to the harsh climate of Antarctica.
We earned the Golden Broom from Mr. Rousseau for a neat and clean classroom!
