A Big Bite

We are studying Robert Frost and we created a Wordle of fall themed words to go with the Acrostic Poems that we are writing.  It was fun!

It was a short week in room 23.  It was wonderful to meet with everyone at conferences to discuss progress and set goals.  I know that it will continue to be a great year!

November is Picture Book month and we have been reading at least one picture book a day!  On Friday, after recess, we gathered as a grade in the library, to hear a picture book together.  Mrs. Williams was the first to read and she chose Walter the Farting Dog by Williams Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray.  It was Laugh Out Loud funny.  Miss Farrell showed the pictures on the interactive whiteboard as the story was read.  Will continue to do this every Friday in November and each of the 4th grade teachers will read.  In addition, we have arranged to have s Skype visit with at least one picture book author and may have one more potential author to Skype with one day.  If you read a picture book as a family, please send me a picture and I will post it to the blog.  Happy reading!
