A Big Biteb
I hope that everyone has had a great vacation. I have been very busy with my family and today is the first time I have had to sit down at my computer! I can't wait to hear about how you have spent your week. :)
In the two weeks prior to vacation, we had a lot of fun. It was great to get back into the full swing of reader's workshop without test prep. There are several book groups involved in different genres and everyone is coming close to reaching their reading goals for the year. We are writing expert pieces in writer's workshop and are having a fun time with National Poetry Month. Rock poetry day was rockin'! We enjoyed another visit from the Haffenreffer Museum and finished learning about the southeast. We are almost done with our study of weather in science and will be learning about wild weather events next. We are all done with geometry in math and had a lot of fun using protractors. In the upcoming weeks we will begin a unit on electricity in science, travel to the Midwest and prepare for the math MCAS. Ms. Liz, our poet in residence will be joining us during the first week of May and this is always a highlight of the year. With only 39 school days remaining, we will be packing a lot in during our remaining time together. Enjoy the weekend and I will see you on Monday!
