A Big Bite

As expected, everyone has been enjoying reading Greek myths and we all agree that Medusa is one of the most misunderstood creatures of Greek mythology.  We will finish Greek Mythology next week and will begin another interactive read aloud.  Those students who would like to join The Lightning Thief book group will have an opportunity to do so next week.  I will post a new gadget with a link to the audio version of the book so that students can listen as they read.  In math, we have finished our study of measurement, time concepts and graphing.  We have started geometry and will finish before April vacation.  We are learning about the jet stream in science and have begun our travels around the southeast.  In writer's workshop we are writing "expert," pieces and it is exciting.  In honor of National Poetry Month, we have been writing some unique poems (see post below).  The last third of fourth grade is here and it is amazing how quickly the year has passed.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. W
