A Big Bite
We have done a great job since returning from vacation, and it has been BUSY! As a class, we have read 669 books so far this year, can you believe that? I am sure that we will reach our goal of 1,000 books by June. In Reader's Workshop, we have been learning about mythology and have been getting ready for the MCAS. Everyone is SO excited to read the Greek myths. Medusa has been a particular favorite and we drew before/after pictures of her in our reader's journals. Ask your child to tell you the story of Medusa. In Social Studies, we have been learning about Washington D.C., and about clouds in science. We were treated to a visit from FOX 25 meteorologist, Kevin Lemanowicz this week. There was a great deal of discussion about tornadoes. We have begun the third term, can you believe that 2/3rds of the 4th grade is over? We have a lot to accomplish before the end of the year and we will get it all done! I have been reading so many good books for children. Ask your child to tell you about some of them. I think spring is in the air, the snow is melting and I saw a bluebird while I was running the other day! Even the children want the snow to be gone! In like a lion, out like a lamb. Let's hope!
