Bookworm Buzz

Dear Reader,

I have just finished the graphic novel, Robot Dreams by Sara Varnon. This is a wordless novel that requires the reader to pay close attention to the pictures in order to infer the meaning and sequence of events in a story. Remember, an inference is using background knowledge and clues from the text, in this case, pictures, to make an inference about a story, or in other words, draw a conclusion about the story. Robot Dreams has won several awards, including the Kirkus Best Book of the year. It tells the story of friendship, making tough decisions and moving on with your life. If you need some more practice making inferences and drawing conclusions, this is the book for you. If you like stories about friendship, this book is for you. Thanks to Mrs. Richards for getting it for us. Let me know if you want to add it to your book bag.

Read on readers,

Love,

Mrs. W
