A Big Bite

Good afternoon!

We are almost there, the finish line is in sight!  It was a VERY HOT week but we survived; looking forward to cooler days next week. 🌞

In math this week, we continued working on Line Designs, and have begun the curved stitching project.  The students can’t wait to show you what they have created!  We have finished Charlotte’s Web and are looking forward to the Country fair next week! In Writer's Workshop, students are working towards completing their individual writing projects, as well as finalizing their poetry from 4th grade in order to have a complete book of published poems! In Social Studies, we have finished our travels to the mid west and we are moving into the west.  We will finish our travels in the southwest.

We also performed for each other in a bucket drumming performance this week.  It was great to hear all of the children perform their songs.!

From The Team:

We sent home a schedule for the Spirit Days for the “Fourth Grade Country Fair Week,” for the week of June 14-18.  Please check your child’s folder for this information. We have requested a donation of individual pies from Table Talk pies, in Worcester, MA and our request was ACCEPTED!!! If you have concerns about the ingredients in a pie, please contact your child’s teacher ASAP.  Students DO NOT need to have a pie to participate in the pie snack day, they are welcome to bring in a mini pie of their own or any other snack they choose.  In lieu of the traditional Tie Dye Tuesday celebration, we are going to have the students decorate a t-shirt for the fair in school and we are asking that you provide your child with a t-shirt for this activity.  It does not need to be a new t-shirt as the students will be drawing on them with Sharpies.

We are very thankful to have received many donations for us to use/ borrow for our Country Fair Week. We appreciate all of your time and effort. At this time, we are still in need of a hobby horse or two to use for a fun activity during that week. We would only need to borrow it and could send it home with your student following the activity.

Here is a schedule of the activities for next week:

6/14-Dress as a Kennedy Staff member or a favorite book character

6/15-Sports Gear/Team Day and extra snack

6/16-Pajama/Anime Day and Pet Picture (stuffed animal)

6/17- Vans/ Sneaker Day/ International Day

6/18- T-Shirt

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs. A,
