Good afternoon!
This has been a great week for Spring weather! WOW! Let’s hope that it continues. Don’t forget to move your clocks AHEAD this weekend; less sleep = daylight!
We even got outside for some extra recess.
The students did a great job on the math test on Monday and this will help them as we continue with fractions and introduce decimals this week. The Mythology unit is done but the fire has been lit and many students will continue to pursue this genre on their own. We will be starting a new interactive read aloud next week so stay tuned for our next title! We will be writing about heroes in writer’s workshop and have continued word work with more Latin Roots. We are learning about the history of the Northeast and what makes this such a great place to live.
We made a line plot of our favorite myths. This class LOVES the monsters in Greek Mythology.March Madness reading is in its second week and the students listened to Corduroy by Don Freeman , read by Mrs. Merten, and The Little Engine that Could, read by Mrs. Mrs. MacMurray.
Mrs. A won a golden ticket this week for preordering a book about Mary Gold Ross, a Cherokee Engineer and leader in STEM for Women. So exciting!Check out Mrs. A's Teacher Tips on Youtube! Here is a link to her channel or you can find the videos on our grade level Facebook Page.
Have a great weekend!
