"Getting to know you," has been the mantra in 4th grade this week. We held our first all grade community meeting on Tuesday morning and are having fun getting to know ALL of our classmates. Establishing routines and building community continue to be the focus in Room 23. We are making great progress in reader's workshop by building book bags and increasing reading stamina. We have been setting goals for fourth grade in writer's workshop. Place value, reading and writing numbers through the hundred thousands and comparing numbers are the math standards that we have been studying this past week. There will be a test on Topic 3 this Thursday and a study guide went home today.
It was wonderful to have the Franklin Music Department at JFK on Tuesday to tell us all about the instruments that students can learn to play this year. It sounds like several students were able to make it to rental night!! WOOHOO!
Ask your child to tell you about the pictures below. :)
Curriculum night for parents/guardians is this Thursday, September 12th from 6-7:30. There will be two sessions, 6-6:30 and 6:40-7:10. Please feel free to attend either session.
Have a great weekend!
