A Big Bite
It was another great week in room 23!We are continuing to build community and establish routines both academically and socially. We focused on math, reading and writing this week and will continue to do so next week. We experienced our first "Creative Arts Friday," and it was a big hit. Check out the pictures of the spaghetti and marshmallow challenge that the students completed with Mrs. E Williams. In poetry workshop we learned about John Keats and his poem, Song About Myself. We began writing Biopoems and should finish next week.
Don't miss our live "Tweet," of the first Dance Party Friday. So much fun.
We started our week with our first grade level community meeting. Our mantra for the week was "Getting to Know You!" We even learned some new yoga poses. 😂
We will have a quiz on place value on Wednesday. Check out these videos as a way to prepare for the quiz.

National Parks Program:
Visiting National Parks is one of my favorite things to do and there are plenty to see here in Massachusetts and the New England area. Once again, this year, the government has announced a program for fourth graders called "Every Kid in a Park". This initiative is to encourage fourth graders to visit the National Parks FREE OF CHARGE! All fourth graders in the 2017-2018 school year. The pass will allow the student, family members under 16 and three adults into "for fee," National Parks across the country for free! So exciting. Let me know if you sign up and if you use the pass. Information about this program can be found here.
Ask your student about their week, we sure did laugh a lot and we LEARNED A LOT!
Have a great weekend,
Mrs, Williams
