A Big Bite
We have had a great first week and everyone seems excited and ready for 4th grade! We spent a good deal of our time building our classroom community and learning the ropes. We developed a classroom constitution with 3 principles that we are striving for; to be kind, to be supportive and helpful, and to do our best. We all signed our names just like it was The Declaration of Independence! We also talked about how maintaining a positive attitude and never giving up is key to success. We retired the words "I can't." and celebrated with a watermelon party. Yum!
We began working on academics and will really begin units next week. We also spent time meeting Mrs. Merten and the other Mrs. Williams and learned all about Creative Arts Friday. Ask you r child to tell you about this fun part of our week.
We ended our week with a community meeting in which we created a class spider web with string. We talked about our "high, low and betcha' didn't know," facts from the first week of school. Many high points were meeting classmates and there were several low points due to injuries, myself included! The betcha' didn't knows sounded like many fun weekend trips to end the summer.
Here is a link to the first student survey of the year. Please complete this survey by Monday at 12:00 p.m. Thanks!
Have a great weekend and see you on Tuesday!
