A Big Bite

Our week in pictures!  We have finished several units in math, science, social studies, writing and we have even finished two novels!  We have had visits from the Haffenreffer museum, the Franklin Vet Clinic and did "Breakout," during tech in Mrs. Merten's classroom.  We even made holiday cards for a little girl named Safyre and for the Franklin Policemen and Firemen.  Students please click here to complete a survey BEFORE we return to school in January.  Have a great holiday!

Juicy Nibble

We had a great time at the mother/son breakfast book club meeting! Great discussion, great food, great group! I am glad that everyone enjoyed reading The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo and    learning from each other. Thanks to all the families who participated and for bringing in the breakfast treats. Daughters and dads will get a chance to participate in the spring with a different book!

A Big Bite

A beautiful way to start the week!
Stained glass Menorah's!
Morning yoga

Our week began with a beautiful sunrise on Monday morning! Academically speaking we are learning about division, Canada, weather instruments and dogs!  We are working on non fiction reading skills and strategies in reader's workshop using short texts, books and videos.  There are so many great dog breeds, which is your favorite?  Check out some of the videos that we have been viewing on Animal Planet.  We even participated in an impromptu Skype visit with Mrs. W's sister and were able to view a Boxer in action.  It was so much fun!
We will be wrapping up a few units next week with tests on Wednesday in division and Friday on Canada; study guides have been sent home.  In addition, we will have a "Dog Day," on Wednesday to celebrate the end of Little Dog, Lost and the second visit from the Haffenreffer museum on Thursday.
Also, musical show and tell will take place in music class on Thursday.  It is shaping up to be a busy end to 2015.
Have a great weekend!
